Our Mission

At BonBon Equestrian, we believe in the essence of the Japanese proverb known as the three masks. According to this wisdom, individuals wear three masks: one presented to the world, one shown to friends and family, and one concealed even from ourselves. Beneath these masks lies our true selves, our bare souls, often unrecognized by even our own consciousness.

The remarkable aspect of horses is their ability to see beyond the masks. They perceive the essence of the soul within. Horses gaze upon us with clarity, discerning our true nature without deception or concealment. To succeed in our interactions with horses, we must shed the masks we wear to ourselves. Failure to do so impedes the development of mutual trust between human and horse.

Horses epitomize freedom in its purest form. We have the choice to forcibly seize this freedom, as is common in much of the equine industry, or to discard our self-imposed masks and welcome the horse into our lives completely. Once we embrace this authenticity, horses willingly share their freedom with us. This authentic connection surpasses anything obtained through coercion. During moments such as riding a dressage test, galloping across a field, or working in the arena, the world recedes, leaving only the rider and the horse. In these instances, fear, stress, and limitations vanish, replaced by unbridled freedom.

This is why we at BonBon Equestrian have chosen to teach and educate. We strive to impart the understanding that willingly shared horse freedom surpasses all else. Teaching horsemanship extends beyond mere training techniques; it encompasses achieving inner peace. It entails embracing our true selves without reservation—accepting every facet of our being and finding tranquility within. Only through this profound self-acceptance can we forge a genuine connection with horses and partake in their freedom. Witnessing the radiant smiles of our clients when they finally forge that connection is truly priceless.
